精準時間協定概論(Precision Time Protocol Survey)

本篇專題研究報告為IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol 精準時間協定之研究報告,在原理的部分,可以了解到PTP與傳統網路時間協定NTP的差別與優勢,但相對的PTP在使用上有諸多限制與缺點,本篇專題研究報告列舉PTP在應用上所遇到的困難缺點,並提列出相對解決辦法;除了原理外,本篇專題研究報告蒐羅了PTP在實務上的應用,展現PTP在不同領域中突破性的應用。
本篇專題研究報告實作一簡易實驗-PTP架構下GPS訊號接收站,將實驗室內的時鐘源以GPS信號做為時鐘來源的主時鐘來同步,展現PTP精準時間協定在應用上的可行性。
This research report is about the IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol. In the principle part, you can understand the difference and advantages of PTP compare to traditional Network Time Protocol NTP. But the relatively, PTP has many restrictions on its uses and disadvantages. This research report lists the difficulties and shortcomings encountered in the application of PTP, and proposes relative solutions. In addition to the principle, this research report also collects the application of PTP, showing that how PTP are used in different fields and the breakthrough application.
For this research report we implemented a simple experiment. We set up a GPS signal receiving station which was built under the PTP structure. The clock source in the laboratory is synchronized with the GPS clock as the master clock of the clock source, demonstrating the feasibility of the PTP precision time protocol.
